1 day “BengMelea and Countryside” Tour

This tour brings you to ancient Beng Melea temple with its hanging ferns,  floating butterflies, galleries and few other guests. Magic … just what you expected to find in Cambodia.

We take ancient small paths, trails and quiet roads, though villages and countryside farms, through picture postcard landscapes of open rice fields.  We visit family homes, who produce local rice whiskey, mats from coconut leaves and palm sugar. We taste fresh palm juice, collected in front of our eyes. We stop to see people harvesting rice and home-grown produce.

We arrive at BengMelea…The central courtyard, the bas reliefs, the temple walls covered by creeping roots, the Naga heads, the river at the back - you’ll feel like you found it yourself!

We stop at a local NGO that assists with school education and learn about the challenges that young Cambodians face.

Return to Siem Reap as children return from school. The countryside slows down, household fires are lit for evening meal preparations, and the early evening approaches.
